One year ago, I launched That Witchy Friend with a simple goal: to create a welcoming space for exploring spirituality. I wanted to encourage curiosity about esoteric and occult topics without judgment. My personal grimoire felt too small to hold all my research, and I longed for an online community that felt like home. So, I started this blog—not knowing where it would take me, just knowing that I had to begin.
At first, my goal was to have a functioning website and post once a week. Now, my vision has grown. I want to build a true community. To create a space where we can openly exchange knowledge, ask questions, and challenge each other’s perspectives. Respect and curiosity are at the heart of this journey.
Achievements
One of my proudest achievements this year has been creating my Major Arcana series. What began as an ambitious idea has transformed into a valuable resource. This blog has been a comprehensive guide for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of tarot. Building it has taught me so much. I’m especially proud of the consistency, quality, and depth of knowledge I’ve maintained throughout this project.

Another milestone? I made my first tarot reading sale, a moment that completely shifted my perspective. I went from wondering if I was good enough to knowing, confidently, that the value I provide is real.
Looking Back: A Year of Witchy Growth

My spirituality has blossomed from an abstract concept into a meaningful, intentional practice. Witchcraft once felt like a mechanical, step-by-step process—something to follow rather than feel. As I’ve deepened my understanding of the occult, my connection to rituals and divination has become something far more personal. Now, I don’t just perform magic; I experience it. I feel my energy moving with intention, aligning with my will. This evolution hasn’t just strengthened my spiritual practice; it’s also enriched my relationships and strengthened my sense of purpose.
Staying consistent with my blog has helped me cultivate self-discipline and patience. On days when motivation is low, I commit to at least 10 minutes of work. Even when it feels like the words aren’t flowing, this effort helps me progress and ensures I’m not overexerting myself. This practice allows me to produce quality content without burning out, reinforcing the importance of consistency in my creative process.
Takeaway
At the beginning of 2024, when I started That Witchy Friend, my goals were blurry. I didn’t focus on growth or expect anything. As I gain more wisdom, I realize the importance of goals. Intention is powerful, but goals provide a roadmap to success.
