At the end of Fall, Winter creeps in with a quiet confidence. The world becomes cold as the sun lays to rest, and the rotting leaves of autumn fall so elegantly. Nature is retreating. We, like the world, need solace. Sometimes we need a break.
Taking a Break: A Sacred Cycle
The cosmic precision of the seasons is a stark contrast to our unstable and cyclical nature as humans. We don’t follow a set schedule with our cycles; they are often unpredictable. However, we have our own inner rhythms that require attention and care.
I Needed a Break.

April and May were hard for me. I battled between wanting to produce content and wanting to take a break. They were my least productive months since starting this blog. We will reflect on why pausing is beneficial, though it sounds counterproductive.
Rest is sacred and fully entwined with nature. The new moon shows us it’s okay to go dark and recharge, while the winter solstice embodies rest as a means of restoration. The environment shifts into a duller landscape, and animals seek hibernation.
The Value of a Break
Turning inwards provides value. When we reflect on what we want, or even who we are, new ideas can be born. From these ideas we can start projects that transform our lives. Of course, it doesn’t have to be this dramatic. A nap leading to finished laundry is equally as profound.
In my time away from the blog, my passion for it has flourished. It has become a want, not a need. I crave writing, posting, and connection.
During my time away, I leaned into personal rituals. I practiced spells that would bolster my energy and success. I spent time with my local pagan community and celebrated a Beltane ritual with them.
As I navigated transitions in my personal life, I allowed myself to focus on what truly mattered. It’s me. I truly matter. It’s you, too. Without us, the world wouldn’t know which way to turn.
My energy has returned, and I will hold on to it while it stays with me. I will honor my next need for rest, and come back to the blog when I am ready.
It’s Your Turn.
